Teemu Sorsa is studying sociology, cultural anthropology and social psychology at the University of Eastern Finland. In his studies he has focused especially on changing working life and environmental issues. In his master’s thesis he analyses an self-sufficiency striving ecovillage through research lenses of work, community and power.
Some of Teemu’s interests are:
- Social scientific understanding of climate change and other environmental crisises
- Interplay between micro- and macrolevels on issues of everyday life, working life, economy and power relations
- Questions of equality and democracy in a changing world
In Demos Helsinki Teemu works in Science in Society team for example with issues regarding universities and strategic research.
Before Demos Helsinki Teemu has worked as a research assistant in Strategic Research Councils WISE-project and produced events such as the annual sociological conference and various music festivals. In his spare time Teemu sport climbs and works on his musical projects.
