Maria Malho (M.Soc.Sc.) works with the themes of urbanisation and city development in Urban Transformations team. Maria is specialised in futures studies methodologies such as foresight and futures scenarios.
Maria’s core competences include:
– Research on transformations in global power structures
– Cities as political actors
– Future of security and new security actors
Maria has led and worked in research and consulting projects focusing on the themes of people-centred Nordic cities, future of the Nordic welfare state, national foresight systems, and the future use of outer space.
Maria is also a lecturer on Futures Studies in Aalto University and Helsinki Summer University. She has previously worked with defence affairs, in global supply chain management and in the banking sector.
In her free time, Maria is a Contributor in an independent online journal The Ulkopolitist addressing issues of international politics and Finnish foreign and security policy.
