Leena Alanko (M.Soc.Sci) is a sociologist, driven by the motivation to enhance individual’s well-being and capabilities. She is specialized in supporting healthcare and educational sectors in creating more future-oriented strategic planning.
Leena’s core competencies are:

- Tools and methods for co-creation
- Health and well-being services
Leena has been creating housing concepts and neighborhoods to support individual’s everyday life and well-being. One of the projects is Y-Lab in which she created affordable, sustainable and high-quality urban housing services together with tenants.
“It is becoming more crucial to provide both affordable housing and high quality services to meet citizen’s needs. This is how we will promote the overall well-being of our cities and growth centers.”
Before coming to Demos Helsinki, Leena was working as a project coordinator at Tekes (Business Finland) and as a producer for the Finnish art duo ‘Nutty Tarts’ (Tärähtäneet ämmät).
Since 2016 Leena has been producing her own podcast Arkijuusto.
