Johannes Mikkonen is a social scientist, who currently researches how sensors change the society. His expertise lies in the societal impact of research and communication.

In Demos Helsinki Johannes manages Naked Approach -project that investigates how digitalisation and smart environments change the society and business. The project builds the Nordic perspective towards the internet of things together with VTT and four Finnish universities. In addition, Johannes is an interaction coordinator of BEMINE -research project, which solves the challenges of city-regions planning and is funded by the Academy of Finland.

Prior to Demos Helsinki Johannes has worked in the European Parliament Information office in Helsinki and with the development projects in the Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu and in Maya Nepal ry.
