Region 2050 is a foresight process that creates scenarios of the future role of regions in the globalized world. Region 2050 combines an international network of foresight experts, one hundred leading civil servants and Demos Helsinki’s participatory foresight methods to look at the role of regions in the future. The process is initiated by Reglab, the regional innovation lab owned by the 21 Swedish regions, Vinnova (Sweden’s innovation agency), Tillväxtverket (The Swedish Agency for Economical and Regional Growth) and SALAR. Region 2050 lasts from 2017-2018.
