Lari Hokkanen, researcher
Lari Hokkanen works as a researcher in the Democracy and Capabilities team at Demos Helsinki. He is particularly focusing on designing experiments and promoting experimental culture within public sector.
Lari is a fifth year student of social and public policy in the University of Helsinki, and he has also studied philosophy, anthropology and cognitive science as minors. Lari has a strong interest towards inherently interdisciplinary problems. In his bachelor thesis he discussed what kind of effects poverty can have on the mind, and decision making skills in particular.
Prior to joining Demos, Lari worked as a research intern at
The Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In the university Lari has been an active member of the student community, being a board member of many student organizations. He has also co-founded the the co-op Vyyhti Helsinki, which specializes in participatory problem solving in the fields of sustainability and urban development.
